<p>Most of the time, I have found that few of our junior database developers were taking backup in default path which may increase a utilization of server disk, so I changed the default path of the backup directory.</p>
<p><strong>Follow the below steps:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Connect your SQL Server using SSMS</li>
<li>In object explorer, right click on your SQL Server engine and choose Facets</li>
<li>As per the below image, Go to the Server setting and change the default path of the Backup directory or Data/Log files.<img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-4796 size-full" title="SQL Server Facets Setting" src="https://www.dbrnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/SQLServerFacetsSetting.png" alt="SQL Server Facets Setting" width="868" height="771" srcset="https://www.dbrnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/SQLServerFacetsSetting.png 868w, https://www.dbrnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/SQLServerFacetsSetting-300x266.png 300w, https://www.dbrnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/SQLServerFacetsSetting-750x666.png 750w, https://www.dbrnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/SQLServerFacetsSetting-150x133.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 868px) 100vw, 868px" /></li>
