<p>If you are aware of MySQL Workbench, it also returns only top 1000 default rows for all query results.<br />
SQL Server SSMS also has this kind option to set default ROWCOUNT of query results.</p>
<blockquote><p>The main advantages to set this option,<br />
If a table has millions row and someone is executing this without knowing about this, it requires more memory resource to produce results into SSMS.</p></blockquote>
<p><strong>You can set an option from menu Tools -&gt; Option -&gt; Query Execution -&gt; change value of SET ROWCOUNT.</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.dbrnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/SQLServerSetRowCount.png" rel="attachment wp-att-1365"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-1365 size-full" title="SQL Server Set Row Count" src="https://www.dbrnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/SQLServerSetRowCount.png" alt="SQL Server Set Row Count" width="758" height="441" srcset="https://www.dbrnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/SQLServerSetRowCount.png 758w, https://www.dbrnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/SQLServerSetRowCount-300x175.png 300w, https://www.dbrnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/SQLServerSetRowCount-750x436.png 750w, https://www.dbrnd.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/SQLServerSetRowCount-150x87.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 758px) 100vw, 758px" /></a></p>
<p><strong>After setting parameter, you can execute the SELECT command on any tables and it returns only 10 rows in the result window. </strong></p>
