SQL Server: Remove recent file history from the File Menu

This article is half-done without your Comment! *** Please share your thoughts via Comment ***

In this post, I am going to show essential help to remove recent file history from the File Menu of SQL Server Management Studio.

Sometimes, we should also hide all history of the recently opened files for security purpose.

You can change this setting from menu Tools -> Options -> General Tab and change value of recently used lists, you set minimum 1 and maximum 24.SQL Server Recent File History

Anvesh, Your article states “remove”, yet your solution only minimize the recent files to 1 and hides the rest. If the value is change to a higher number, the history is still there and is visible.
