    Using Sub-Query:

    Select * From Empsalary E
    Where E.EmpSalary >
    (Select E1.Empsalary From Empsalary E1
    Where E.ManagerID=E1.EmpID)

Why my query does not work?

select * from empsalary as e
    where e.empsalary=(select e1.empsalary from empsalary as e1 where e.EmpID = e1.ManagerID and e1.EmpSalary > e.EmpSalary)

It’s result is null. What is the correct format if I want to use subquery? Thank you

Your alternative solution (correlated subquery ) is similar to Shamanth, please try the solution given by him.
      Select * From Empsalary E
      Where E.EmpSalary >
      (Select E1.Empsalary From Empsalary E1
      Where E.ManagerID=E1.EmpID)

The filter that you applied inside the subquery which is not returning any data.
      I modified your query,
select * from empsalary as e
      where e.empsalary > (select e1.empsalary from empsalary as e1 where e.ManagerID = e1.EmpID )

    SELECT * FROM empsalary
WHERE managerid IS NOT NULL AND empsalary > (SELECT MAX(empsalary) FROM empsalary WHERE managerid IS NULL)
